Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Klindrops Work? +

Klindrops uses a multi-stage filtration system that combines a PP pre-filter, activated carbon and a hollow-fibre ultrafiltration membrane. As you drink, water passes through each layer to help reduce sediment, bacteria, protozoan parasites and microplastics above the tested filtration threshold while improving taste by reducing chlorine and unpleasant odours.

No batteries, electricity or chemicals are required—simply place the filter into an appropriate freshwater source and drink through the mouthpiece.

Which water sources can use it with? +

Klindrops is designed for appropriate freshwater sources, including:

  • Rivers and streams
  • Lakes and natural springs
  • Hotel taps
  • Holiday rentals
  • Public drinking fountains
  • Campsites
  • Festival refill stations
  • Emergency water storage

Do not use Klindrops with seawater, saltwater, industrial wastewater, sewage, chemically contaminated water or water that may contain toxic chemicals.

Does it remove viruses? +

Klindrops is designed to reduce bacteria and protozoan parasites using hollow-fibre ultrafiltration.

Virus removal depends on the specific virus and the filter's certified testing. Unless otherwise stated by verified laboratory documentation for this product, Klindrops should not be relied upon as a virus-removal device.

Does it remove heavy metal? +

Klindrops uses activated carbon to help improve the taste and odour of water.

However, Klindrops is not marketed as a heavy-metal removal filter. It should therefore not be relied upon where heavy metal contamination is suspected.

How do I clean and store it? +
  1. Backflush the filter with clean water following the supplied instructions.
  2. Shake out excess water.
  3. Allow the filter to dry thoroughly before long-term storage.
  4. Store with both protective caps fitted in a cool, dry place.

Regular cleaning helps maintain flow rate and prolong filter life.

How long does it last? +

The lifespan of your Klindrops filter depends on water quality and how well it is maintained.

With proper cleaning and normal use, one filter is designed to provide 5,000L of portable filtration. For best performance, replace the filter when the flow rate becomes noticeably reduced or at the manufacturer's recommended service life.

Can children use it? +

Yes. Klindrops can be used by children under adult supervision.

It is ideal for family holidays, camping, school trips and emergency preparedness kits. Children should always be supervised when collecting water and using the filter.

Does Klindrops require batteries or electricity? +

No. Klindrops works entirely by suction and requires no batteries, electricity or chemicals. Simply place the inlet into an appropriate freshwater source and drink through the mouthpiece, making it ideal for travel, hiking, festivals and emergency preparedness.

What is the returns policy? +
